Baby With No Name Yet Born in Lockdown 2020
Updated: May 8
"It definitely felt like a weird time to bring a baby in to the world, but that wasn’t going to stop him coming! :)
I was so anxious about the labour, our planned homebirth was out of the window and I was told I wouldn’t be able to have my mum with us in the hospital and that I wouldn’t be able to go to the labour ward until I was 4 cm dilated and Albert couldn’t join me until then. Turns out it took me 18 hours to get to that point, but eventually I was allowed to go in and get that gas and air!! He finally arrived with us another 12 hours later and my goodness he was so worth the wait!
2 weeks previous, when lockdown was announced we had made the decision to move in with my parents so that we could share the babies first few weeks with them and try to create some sort of normal and we’re so glad we did, it’s been so special to share this time with them and we’ve created our own little bubble of love in their home all together!"
Thank you again! Amelia, Albert and Baby ‘Neil’ xx
Being a newborn photographer in Yorkshire it broke my heart that these memories could not be captured in the first weeks. I started this personal project through Zoom to document the feelings new parents are having and spread smiles on the way.
Do you know a baby born in lockdown please spread the word?
